"In this painting, I sought to conjure a vision suspended between the sacred and the profane — a pale, vulnerable figure sealed within a suffocating veil of crimson plastic, as though encased in a tomb of blood and desire. Her flesh, fragile as porcelain, breathes beneath a shroud that is both prison and altar, a haunting boundary between life’s breath and the silence beyond. Her form recalls the shadowed reverence of 17th-century martyrdom. She is a holy specter caught between salvation and damnation, desire and despair. This painting is a requiem to the delicate agony of existence — of being sealed away, yet painfully alive." - KL
